Final Thoughts

Item: George Washington guard Carl Elliott, a former football star, will attend a workout with the New York Giants on Monday.

Item: I was supposed to post this earlier, but I forgot. Frozen Four finals tomorrow. BC-Michigan State. Official local BC watch party is at Porter's at 19th and M. The goal was for me to hang out at the North Dakota watch party last night, but I failed. Does anyone know of a local Michigan State watch party?

Item: Nats punching bag Ron Darling, now an analyst with SportsNet New York, won a New York Emmy last week.

Item: New video of me getting fashion advice from the Mystics.

Item: Did you see where NBADraft.Net has the Wiz taking Marcus Williams in the first round? If the past is any indication, Wizards guards who leave Arizona after their sophomore seasons make for fairly promising blogging material. Also, Hibbert and Jeff Green are both projected in the Top 10.

Item: From Bog friend Woj's Yahoo Sports blog:

In a whisper, the Wizards' season has been reduced to rubble. They're 39-35, slotted as the sixth seed in the East, and you have to wonder if, without its two All-Stars, Washington will win more than a couple of games the rest of the way. The Raptors are waiting in the playoffs, a once-intriguing series that suddenly has the makings of a sweep.

Item: Robin Ficker, back in the news. Weird. Reader Brett, seeing the story, suggests that Ficker is the one thing that can save us. "We need to track him down and supply him with playoff tix behind the opponent's bench ASAP," Brett writes.

Item: An e-mail from Double Jersey Man: "Dan, did you catch Steve Buckhantz's suggested nickname for AD [Wednesday] night? "The Termite" - because he's always on the wood. I think it is just odd enough to stick. Can you help?"

I will say, with Agent Zero and Tuff Juice shelved, we have a major nickname deficit. I asked Jarvis if he had any good nicknames today, and he said no. I asked Donell Taylor, and he said no, also. He said guys call him Don-T, which isn't that great. He said he and his brother used to be called the Twin Towers, which doesn't seem appropriate. So that's your weekend task. We need nicknames.
