Fred Davis thinks his knee was down


Fred Davis’s first-quarter fumble was an admittedly close call. It was close enough for Mike Shanahan to challenge the ruling on the field, and close enough that I was completely agnostic about the call.

Some replays, as in this one cited by Chris Mottram, seemed to show that Davis’s knee was on the ground. Fans at the game thought the same thing when the replay was shown on the big screens. But Fox analyst and former NFL analyst Mike Pereira thought the ball had already started to move in Davis’s hands by that point.

Anyhow, it was close. But Davis evidently didn’t agree with the call, or with those who had been critical of him on Twitter. Via his account:
