Gary Williams Ready for the End of the World

I used to write about college basketball a lot, until I realized there were no clicks in that business. So I apparently unwittingly skipped all the Midnight 9 p.m. Madness celebrations last week in favor of....well, nothing really.

But had I remembered that there was a 46 percent chance Gary Williams would ride a non-standard vehicle to Center Court, maybe I would have gone up to College Park. (Or down to Georgetown, I guess, had I realized that Dikembe Mutombo, Jerry Rice, Bill Raftery and the dancing daughter of John Thompson III would all be at Georgetown's event, that also could have been an option.)

Still waiting to see the full glory of Gary's 17,000-pound ride and Greivis's dance routine, but this is at least a start. See also: the Baltimore Sun's photo gallery. Save for later: jokes about Gary sweating inside the armored vehicle, jokes about Gary needing the armored vehicle to drive past fan parking, jokes about the armored vehicle floating as well as the Titanic, jokes about the relative temperature of the seat inside the armored vehicle, and whether it's generally hot.

(Grainy video via Comcast SportsyNet, and it doesn't appear to like Firefox.)
