After spending a couple seasons in Philadelphia, outfielder Hunter Pence was traded to San Francisco in time to help the Giants host the Nats this week. So, in preparation for that series, someone in the San Fran clubhouse asked Pence about his former NL East rivals.
“Hunter, you’re familiar with the Nationals obviously, being with the Phillies,” the questioner began. “What makes the Nationals such a good team?”
“Um,” he answered. “Pitching, and hitting. They’re good at those. I’m sorry. That’s true. They’ve got great pitching and they can swing it. So that makes them good.”
This is how I like my sports analysis, frankly. Though Stephen A. Smith would recommend he add a few references to nausea and outrage.
