Jan Vesely, fan favorite

What fans there were at Tuesday night’s Wizards game made certain of their player preferences known pretty clearly. Andray Blatche, for example, was booed by the home fans, just because. Rookie Jan Vesely, meanwhile, seemed to be developing into something of a fan favorite.

“Vesely also finally had a chance to influence the game, as he scored four points, all on a pair of impressive, crowd-pleasing dunks, and added five steals in just over 16 minutes,” Michael Lee wrote.

After the game, a TV reporter asked Vesely about Nick Young’s claim that he was becoming a fan favorite.

“I don’t think so,” Vesely said, via this video. “It’s a team playing. We won, he did a good job in the offense. Of course we help each other in defense. It’s good that we win.”

Someone else asked about the fans finally showing a bit of life.

“It felt good, because I played in Partizan, and I think in Partizan they have I think the best fans and the loudest fans in Europe. So I hope I will do my best to get those fans in the gym and show them that we can play good basketball.”

Also, he made the above face, via @RecordsAndRadio, which has to count for something.
