Joe Biden adds to list of Nats’ high-powered visitors

Time was, lots of U.S. Senators and Members of Congress and Cabinet secretaries and high-ranking government officials would go to Redskins games at RFK. That’s what they tell me, anyhow.

Now, Nats Park seems to be a popular destination for government heavyweights. Vice President Joe Biden’s visit this week reminded me that I recently saw a list of a whole bunch of bold-faced government-type names who have visited the park this season. Among them:

* Army V ice Chief of Staff. Lloyd Austin

* Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer

* Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Martin Dempsey (pictured below)

* Attorney General Eric Holder

* EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson

* Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan

* Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy

* Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood

* Secretary of the Army John McHugh

* Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano

* Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts

* Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki

* Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis

* Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor (pictured below)

That’s seven members of the Cabinet and five Supreme Court justices, which is probably more than have been to [random small-market Midwestern team whose fans will soon send me angry e-mails] games.
