I didn’t go to Saturday’s Redskins practice, the first of the summer open to the public and the second of the summer featuring presumptive starting quarterback John Beck. Instead, I kind of followed the proceedings the way I follow most things these days: via Twitter. And that was enough to convince me that it’s about time to run for the hills.
Some samples. Not safe for work, probably. Or any other venue, if I’m being honest.
John Beck showing some nice zip on the ball on short and intermediate passes, but his deep throws have been off target.
Didn’t see John Beck connect on a single deep ball today. Passes fluttered and caused WRs to have to stop and wait for ball to arrive.
Arm strength is clearly an issue w/ Beck. Felt bad watching Armstrong get a step on defense, only to pause and wait for the ball.
John Beck’s passes have a tendency to flutter. He has overthrown three deep balls today with some wobblers. #Redskins
Good blitz pickup by Torain, Beck overthrows deep bomb to Armstrong. A duck of a throw to some degree. #Redskins Another deep one off now.
At least for today, Beck looks great on his boots and play action + underneath, everything deep is wobbly and mostly inaccurate. #Redskins
