While it was a tough weekend for D.C. sports teams — two home losses for the Caps, postseason losses for the American and George Mason basketball teams, a home-finale loss for Maryland, a road loss for Georgetown — the Wizards actually fared ok. The team won at home on Saturday night, and then many of its stars hit the town.
The Standard Events and Grey Goose Cherry Noir threw a party at Sax Lounge in D.C. (and yeah, my invitation was lost in the mail) after the Trey Songz and Big Sean concert, and a press release says the guests included Young Jeezy, John Wall, Trevor Booker, Jordan Crawford, JaVale McGee, Rashard Lewis, Andray Blatche and Roger Mason.
“Instead of lounging in VIP with the rest of the stars, the Wizards were spotted sipping cocktails near the bar in a section of their own, greeting, hugging and laughing with Washingtonians,” the release says.
So at least these Wizards drink with the people.
