I was watching Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Thursday when an ad came on for Wizards tickets. The ad was over when I realized something was wrong: Jordan Crawford and John Wall were pictured wearing the team’s beautiful new uniforms, bearing their correct jersey numbers. See above.
Ordinarily, this might not be weird, but I happen to know that the franchise only had two jerseys in its possession — one a home, and one an away, both with No. 11, as in 2011.
So maybe, you’re thinking, a new shipment of uniforms came in before this ad was made, and now the jersey numbers were correct? Yeah, maybe.
And maybe Crawford and Wall haven’t changed their facial expressions for five weeks.
(Note: I don’t care at all; just think it’s funny. You could show me images of Rush Limbaugh and Keith Olbermann in mini-spandex replicas of the Wizards’ new uniforms, and I’d still say they’re perfectly beautiful. The more I see them, the better, no matter what number is Photoshopped onto the front. And I took this image from the Wiz photo gallery. It’s by the great Ned Dishman.)
