The World Basketball Festival is coming to Washington later this month, featuring “members of the 2012 USA Basketball Men’s and Women’s National Teams...as they train, compete and participate in youth skills clinics and community events including basketball court refurbishments on behalf of NIKE, Inc. and USA Basketball.”
The four-day event will include men’s and women’s friendlies against Brazil at Verizon Center, a “20 years of USA Basketball Exhibition” at the Armory and a bunch of other promotional activities.
And the visit to D.C. will also include the release of a couple D.C.-themed Jordan Brand shoes. From the company’s press release:
‘Dress blues’ were the inspiration for the ‘D.C.’ colorways, mimicking the uniform and medals of a decorated officer. The JORDAN SUPER.FLY and AIR JORDAN 1 RETRO HIGH ‘D.C.’ will be available on Saturday, July 14, when World Basketball Festival 2012 makes it stop in Washington, D.C.
Called “Road to the Gold,” the shoes will retail for a suggested $140 (Super.Fly) and $130 (Air Jordan 1 Retro). Jordan Brand is also releasing Las Vegas- and Barcelona-themed shoes, during other World Basketball Festival stops. See more here. More images below.
