Kenny Chesney concert is very Redskins

So this Kenny Chesney concert at FedEx Field on Saturday is turning out to be a very Redskins event.

We’ll start with the above image, which came from a longtime (and very angry) Redskins fan.

“Redskins swindle!” he wrote me. “I had picked Notre Dame/Terps tickets as my freebie for renewing my Redskins tickets. Don’t remember there being a ‘limited supply’ available. And I would have taken the soccer tickets as my 2nd choice.”

But if a football fan renews early in order to get free football tickets, he’d surely be just as happy with free Kenny Chesney tickets, right? Right?

UPDATE: The Redskins point out that the season-ticket invoice did indeed indicate that there was a limited supply available.

What else makes it Redskinsy? Why, how about nonsensical last-second entreaties for special ticket deals?

You’re telling me it’s the “summer’s hottest show of the season” and yet “great seats are still available” and it’s now buy-three-get-one-free? I mean, those things don’t all fit together very well.

Then there was the e-mail that hit my inbox last night.

I’ve been retained by the Redskins & Goin Coastal Tour as their media representative for the DC show. Please accept my invitation to join us this Saturday at FedEx Field and see what all the excitement is about! I promise, no upper level seat!

Well then!

And then there’s Dan Snyder’s answer when asked for his favorite band by Dave Feldman.

“Let’s see, we have Kenny Chesney next week at the stadium, so Kenny Chesney right now,” he joked.

Yes, it was a joke. But it sort of fits.
