The Maryland women’s basketball team’s efforts to get back to the Final Four were derailed in the latter parts of the
second first half Tuesday night, when a relentless Notre Dame run turned a close game into a rout.
As part of that sequence, Laurin Mincy lost her shoe. Her Under Armour shoe. Which ESPN then talked about for about half of a 60-second report on the game. Including several freeze frames. Of the offending shoe. Which was made by Under Armour.
“Terps shoe FAIL in elite-8 game was featured prominently on SportsCenter,” Brett Haber noted. “Not the message UA was looking for.”
