I’m not sure if anyone will take them up on this, but give Renditions Golf Course points for trying.
The Anne Arundel County course, which is certainly closer to Irene’s projected path than my home, has sent out a special offer to fans of both links golf and inclement weather.
“Looking to possibly experience true British Open playing conditions this weekend?” the offer asks. “Hurricane Irene and Renditions Golf Course have teamed up to provide golfers with a rare opportunity: exacting replicas of British Open links holes coupled with possible high winds and maybe a little precipitation!
“Most Golf Courses would charge double or triple their normal rates for this opportunity,” the offer continues. “At Renditions, however, we are offering an incredible Buy One Round at Regular rate and get the second round for $25. For this weekend only!”
The bar will also serve special Hurricane drinks for the low low price of $2.99.
Side note: I played Renditions once and put a golf ball incredibly near someone’s back deck. And that was without high winds or precipitation.
