Maryland lacrosse scores with hidden ball trick

“That is something out of a lacrosse camp or a pick-up game,” the announcer said after the third replay, when he finally figured out how Maryland pulled off this hidden-ball trick goal against North Carolina on Sunday.

And look, I’ve never been to a lacrosse camp, but this is clearly straight outta the AND1 Mixtape Tour of lacrosse. The Dave Matthews Band Mixtape Tour, or something. And yeah, it turns out the players were freelancing with that one.

“I’m going to give those guys points for creativity and confidence and making the play,” the Terps coach said, via the News & Observer. “I’m glad it worked. If it didn’t, I’d be really upset.”

Opinions differ, but I still say last week’s full-field Gonzaga goal was better. That video, by the way, has been viewed nearly 2 million times.
