Maryland sideline placards feature Regis, tigers, solar flares

The uniforms got the most attention, but they weren’t the only exciting visual elements of Maryland’s season-opening win.

As Reader Richard (and others) noticed, the Terps have joined the ranks of college teams with exciting and amusing placards used to signal in plays from the sidelines. Or possibly just used to make people laugh.

Now, these aren’t as complex or easy-to-spot as Oregon, which has used the Burger King and Shaq and the state of Louisiana, but they’re still awesome.

I didn’t catch these live, and it’s hard to get the full images in frame, so I’ll trust Reader Richard’s captions.

Above, please find a colorful triangle with Regis Philbin.

More Regis.

This will certainly be a weekly feature moving forward.
