I guess every Maryland sports team will eventually have elements of the state flag in its uniforms.
And, football backlash aside, I don’t think that’s a bad thing. These are distinctive as heck, just like the Maryland flag, and the men’s soccer program has the national pedigree to wear whatever the heck it wants.
Anyhow, the ninth-ranked Terps soccer team opened the season on Sunday, wearing these threads. Maryland beat No. 7, Louisville, 3-0, avenging its loss in last year’s NCAA tournament. And Louisville’s uniforms were totally boring.
