MASN catches the bad spelling bug

The Nats spelling thing has very clearly taken on a life of its own, with a whole army of copy editors poised to ding the franchise, its television broadcasts, its corporate partners and its mail delivery persons for any spelling mistake, no matter how minor.

Still. For MASN to run a TV ad promoting Nats alerts with the Face of the Franchise’s name spelled funny? That ain’t good. Two Nats fans — @Section138 and @JDLand — caught this one over the weekend.

And that’s not even counting the mix-up on Laynce Nix’s first name, which Deadspin noted on Saturday.

So, with the spelling police out in force, some copy editors might be finding themselves in freelance heaven this season.
