Nearly 35 years after the death of Elvis Presley, the mashup that hockey fans have been waiting for has finally come to fruition. Starting with Game 3 of the Caps-Bruins first round playoff series, Bruce Avera Hunter — a professional photographer from Odenton — showed up at Verizon Center as, yes, Elvichkin.
Hunter joins a long line of characters who have rocked the red in cosplay, such as the Capstronaut, the Ted Leonsis guy, and Goat.
Hunter, a Caps fan of 25 years, does not normally dress as Elvis, but he figured the playoffs would be a good time to start.
Will he do it again? If Elvichkin is a hit, he just might, including for Thursday’s game 4.
