Continuing our journey of learning things about Redskins draft picks who aren’t Robert Griffin III, here are a few fun facts about fourth-round pick Keenan Robinson.
According to Shanahan, Robinson was drafted for depth. Add him to a linebacker lineup that includes London Fletcher, Perry Riley, Ryan Kerrigan and former Texas teammate Brian Orakpo, and this Redskins defense gets even scarier.
Drafted Round 4, Pick 24, 119 overall
He might want to send RGIII some goodwill cookies.
When RGIII and Baylor played Texas during the 2012 season, Robinson had some strong words for how he expected his team to shut down Griffin.
“We don’t plan on letting anyone win the Heisman against us,” he said.
As you all know, RGIII did win the Heisman and then they both got drafted by the Redskins. Awkward.
Like Kirk Cousins, he didn’t expect to be a fourth rounder.
In a January interview at a Senior Bowl practice, Robinson was asked which round he expected to be drafted in.
“I pray that I get in the first round. If not, early second round.”
He can do a 360 dunk.
If things don’t work out with the Redskins, the Wizards might want to give him a call.
