I guess when ESPN the Magazine the Web site ran a video feature about Michael Morse’s swing last week, I should have figured this meant that ESPN the Magazine the Magazine would also have a Morse feature.
Still, this was pretty attention-grabbing. A full-on Morse double-truck, which calls Morse a “budding star,” says his recent contract extension was “definitely” a “smart investment,” and again quotes him calling his hop move the “Samurai Cobra Snake, because I’m like a samurai swordsman who coils and then explodes.”
“I hold my bat low, with my left hand over the knob,” he also told the publication. “It means my hands are far from my body, but it feels natural to me. Sammy Sosa even told me, ‘I love how your hands are. You’re going to have great success.’ ”
