Last week, Michael Morse celebrated a Jayson Werth home run by delivering a flying elbow to Werth’s head. In fact, I recall seeing Werth deliver yet another flying elbow during yet another good moment later in the week.
And on Friday, Morse upped the abuse stakes after Werth’s ground ball led to a throwing error, allowing Ryan Zimmerman to score from third. Morse had been on second and he sprinted toward third, then reversed directions, grabbed the rosin bag from the pitcher’s mound and dunked it onto Werth’s neck.
It’s a celebration I’m not sure I’ve seen before. There’s video below, where you can track Morse’s movements leading up to the rosin dunk at around the 1 minute mark. Thanks to Reader Andrew for the video and tip.
