Michael Morse takes credit for ‘low tens’ celebration

Having written at length about the Nats’ new home run celebration, involving low fives (or possibly low tens), I have to provide this briefest of updates.

MASN’s Kristina Akra asked Morse about the routine after Sunday’s insane win, and Morse took credit for the new craze.

“The low tens, yeah, that was me,” he said, loquacious as always. “Bringing back old school, you know? It’s catching on, and guys like it.”

I sure was hoping that this was a response to Mark DeRosa aggravating an injury earlier in the year when Bryce Harper “gave him a forceful high-five.” Alas, it appears not.

And yes, Morse dropped some low tens after his ninth-inning homer on Sunday.
