Michelle Obama at the Kastles match

(Vithaya PhotographyVithaya Phongsavan)
This could be a turning-point week in the history of Michelle Obama and D.C. sports teams. Just a few days after she went to Nats Park without any visible signs of White Sox or Cubs fandom and hugged Danny Espinosa, the First Lady showed up at the Kastles’ new facility in Southwest and, by all appearances, made nice with Washington’s most recent championship-winning team.

Kastles Coach Murphy Jensen was typically subdued about the experience, as you can tell.

I HAD AN AMAZING NIGHT WITH MICHELE OBAMA TONIGHT! SHE'S A WASHINGTON KASTLES TENNIS FAN! SHE TOLD ME TO CALL HER MICHELE! COME ON!!!!!!less than a minute ago via web Favorite Retweet Reply

Obama also shook hands with longtime Kastles member Rennae Stubbs, adding another pic to the First Lady with D.C. Athletes genre that also includes this classic Alex Ovechkin number.
