Mike Shanahan, Brian Billick coach event for kids with Down Syndrome

This past weekend, Mike Shanahan donated his time to a two-day camp sponsored by the Global Down Syndrome Foundation. The Redskins’ head coach was joined by Brian Billick and Ed McCaffrey, and from the looks of the videos below, it was a pretty rewarding weekend.

CapitalGazette.com has a great account of event, and Shanahan had this to say to ComcastSportsNet about his involvement:

“I just enjoyed being a part of it. It’s a chance to go out there and have some fun. It’s a lot more rewarding for me than it is for them because they thoroughly enjoy themselves. They kinda recognize your face, you know, obviously from the Skins, and so I think they have a little bit more fun when they can talk to them on a personal basis.”
