Morning pixels: ESPN Magazine predicts 2-14 Redskins

When Pete Prisco predicted the Redskins to finish 3-13, most of you were all, “Hold on. No way. That guy’s dumb.” Or something like that.

Well, the folks at ESPN The Magazine don’t think he’s very far off.

The latest issue of the publication features NFL predictions, and they have the Redskins finishing the season at a dismal 2-14.

Readers @MShawnPage and @shor4sure kindly tweeted images of their pages, and if I’m reading them correctly, the two victories come against St. Louis and Minnesota, which means not a single divisional win.

“Wisdom provided by the big brains and powerful computers at AccuScore,” it says in bold lettering in the middle of the page.

AccuScore specializes in betting predictions, so this record is likely the result of data plugged into a computer program with no human element. Take this one with a grain of salt.

Or you can take it and throw it in the trash. Whatever.

BECAUSE YOU DON’T READ THE PAPER...
* Jason Reid says Davey Johnson deserves National League manager of the year, even if he doesn’t want it.

* Stephen Strasburg came out of a rain delay to serve up 10 strikeouts.

* Strasburg is saving his best stuff for his last innings this season.

* Kirk Cousins is giving the Redskins a very interesting second option.

* The Wizards’ Bradley Beal has had a busy summer.

TWEET OF THE NIGHT
Adam Carriker’s wife seems like a smart lady...

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
Kirk Cousins on knowing that he needs to keep working:

“They’re trying to find the best quarterbacks in the world that are available to come here and play. That means I’ve got to be on top of my job each and every day. Preseason games, right now, are my Super Bowl. And I need to do as well as I can in every one I get a chance to play in.”

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT III
Ian Desmond on Strasburg’s performance last night:

“He was just painting, had everything working. It was fun to watch. Change-up, curveball, fastball, you name it, they were all devastating. One of the more impressive things I’ve seen out of him, especially coming out of that rain delay.”

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT III
Strasburg on his impending shutdown:

“Nobody talks to me personally about it, so obviously I can either scour the Internet, watch all the stuff being said on TV or I can just keep pitching and watch the Golf Channel, I guess.”

HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT
All 10 of Strasburg’s strikeouts...

WHAT TO WATCH TODAY
Braves at Nats, 7 p.m. on MASN. Baltimore at Texas, 8 p.m. on MASN2. All TV/Radio listings are here.

TODDLER FIGHT CLUB
Three Delaware daycare workers were arrested for encouraging the 3-year-olds in their charge to fight. Apparently the first rule of toddler fight club is “no pinching.”

DOG SHAMING
This new tumblr allows dog owners to publicly shame their pups when they misbehave. I have three dogs, so this just reads like a daily diary to me.
