Morning pixels: Mascots, Michael Morse and remembering a legend

I love mascots.

They’re fun, they work hard and I think they have one of the most difficult jobs in sports.

I also think that D.C. happens to have some of the best mascots around, so when I see Wizards mascot G-Wiz ranked one of the NBA’s best by Buzzfeed, it makes me proud.

I once spent the the day with G-Wiz, along with Screech and Jack the Bulldog, learning how to be a mascot. It may have been the most fun I’ve ever had doing a story.

So, shout out to G-Wiz for being the NBA’s sixth best mascot. Here’s to making a run for number one next season.

BECAUSE YOU DON’T READ THE PAPER...
* Kirk Cousins has a very zen way of looking at his opportunity as a back up.

* Adam LaRoche got a well deserved ovation during last night’s game after collecting his 1,000th career hit.

* D.C. United are on a six game home unbeaten streak.
