Morning pixels: Ranking D.C.’s sports talk shows

I do so much sports-talk radio transcribing that I sometimes focus more on the local guests than the local hosts.

Like, Gio Gonzalez? Great sports-talk radio guest. Ernie Grunfeld? Horrible sports-talk radio guest. Clinton Portis? Automatic Web traffic. Ryan Kerrigan? Zzzzzzzz.

But plenty of people care about the hosts more than the guests, and thus, this first-ever Talkers.com list of the 100 best sports-radio hosts in the U.S. Five of the 100 shows are based in D.C.; here they are, in order.

1. Tony Kornheiser (No. 8 overall)

2. The Junkies (No. 47 overall)

3. Kevin Sheehan and Thom Loverro (No. 61 overall)

4. LaVar Arrington and Chad Dukes (No. 77 overall)

5. Steve Czaban and Andy Pollin (No. 96 overall)

There were also a couple of Baltimore names on the list: Scott Garceau and Jeremy Conn were 28th, and Ed Norris and Steve Davis were 36th. Plus Rob Dibble is 93rd. Shudder.

See the full list here. Your thoughts?
