Morning pixels: The anti-Griffining movement

As expected, Griffining isn’t going away.

You’re going to see a lot of the newest Redskins meme in the next few days, but there is a movement forming to quell the practice. A dedicated Twitter feed, @StopGriffining, is developing a following of people who find the act of posing on your duff with your hands in the air just plain silly.

The feed’s bio explains:

“Remember how cool Tebowing was? What happened to Tebow? RG3 is actually a good QB and not a novelty. So treat him that way. Yes I’m a Skins Fan”

At the time of this post, @StopGriffining has 63 followers, and @Griffining has 1,606. Viva la revolucion.

BECAUSE YOU DON’T READ THE PAPER...
* Sally Jenkins says there’s still much we need to learn about RGIII.

* A story about a high school baseball standout recovering from a spinal injury suffered while on vacation.

* The USMNT won a World Cup qualifier last night and is still in the running for a 2014 World Cup berth.

* With a lockout looming, some Caps are making backup plans.

* The Nats took down R.A. Dickey last night. The magic number is now 14.

TWEETS OF THE NIGHT
Note to self: Ask Bradley Beal about his tweeting process.

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
R.A. Dickey on the Nats lineup:

““That’s the best lineup that I’ve faced. They’re just so functional. They’ve got guys that can run. They’ve got great energy. They’ve got old guys that have good approaches. They’ve got young guys that go first to third on you. They’ve got power. Every one of them can hit a home run on you, just about. There’s not a lot of breathing room.”

HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT

Meet female high school quarterback, Erin DiMeglio.“My friends all think I’m crazy,” she said. “But they also think it’s pretty cool.”

GANGNAM OF THE DAY
Psy, of Gangnam Style fame, is hilarious. “Mindset of this dances is, dress classy and dance cheesy.”
