Nationals lead D.C. in bobbleheads

If you’ve visited this site within the past four or five days, you’ve been bombarded with ads for the upcoming Andy Najar bobblehead giveaway at this Saturday’s United game.

Turns out this is United’s first bobblehead giveaway since Freddy Adu in 2004, which got the United marketing people thinking about the local bobblescape. So they compiled this brief, very much abridged history of D.C. sports bobbleheads.

If we assume the recent years are accurate, we find that the Nats — with eight bobbles — lead the area over the past three seasons. The Wizards have seven. The Caps have 5. The Redskins have some fabulous parking spots they’d be happy to sell you.

Also, the United marketing people decided to stage a photo of Marco Etcheverry with the Racing Presidents, which is the real reason for this item.
