Nats will honor military with batting practice hats

(Courtesy the Nationals)
Kilgore touched on this in the newspaper, but the Nats will soon announce that they will wear hats honoring the military during batting practice on Tuesday.

Tuesday night’s game against the Reds is the team’s first at home since the deadly helicopter attack in Afghanistan earlier this month. The Nationals, according to the release, “will honor the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Navy — including the elite SEALs division — Marines and all military reserves.” The hats will be “adorned with the insignias of the various branches of the military,” and players will also wear the team’s patriotic uniforms with the red-white-and-blue Curly Ws.

There will also be pregame ceremonies with local veterans, who will be involved in the first pitch, the delivery of lineup cards and the “Play Ball” announcement thing.

I’m working on getting images of these hats.
