In years past, the Redskins have highlighted current stars on their season ticket stubs. But if you needed to identify 10 current stars to highlight a few months ago, you might have had some trouble. The quarterback was likely on his way out of town. The new presumed starter’s biggest highlights have come on the radio. The best wide receiver had contract uncertainty. The former star running back was gone. Without offseason workouts, there were no images of the first-round draft pick in Skins gear, nor of the free agent safety. Albert Haynesworth and Carlos Rogers probably wouldn’t have made sense.
So for ticketing purposes, you’d be left with DeAngelo Hall, Brian Orakpo, LaRon Landry, London Fletcher, Trent Williams, Chris Cooley, Ryan Torain...Graham Gano? Fred Davis? Tough to get to 10. Real tough.
And thus, presenting this year’s Redskins ticket package, featuring stars of the past. Better to see a Huff and a Green than a Beck and a Barnes. Hall of Famers, all of them.
As for the lack of dates/times, that’s likely an issue that confronted all NFL ticket offices in the offseason. See this post about the Ravens, for example. Please pay attention to the opponent, and you should be ok.
