Redskins no longer favored to win NFC East

(Patrick Smith - GETTY IMAGES)
Right before the Redskins decided to lose four straight games, I did a blog item on how they were favored to win the NFC East, with 2-1 odds. I used a lot of exclamation marks.

Well, that wasn’t super long ago, but it turns out the Redskins are no longer the division favorites. Instead, they’re 50-1 longshots. Bodog also has the Redskins at 250-1 to win the NFC title — better than just Seattle and St. Louis — and at 500-1 to win the Super Bowl — one of eight teams at that point or lower.

If you’re curious how that last number’s progressed through this curious season:

Preseason: 100-1

Week 2: 75-1

Week 3: 45-1

Week 4: 45-1

Week 5: 40-1

Week 6: 35-1

Week 7: 50-1

Week 8: 80-1

Week 9: 200-1

Week 10: 250-1

Wrong direction lately. Unless you want to bet a really big number right before they make their miraculous championship climb.
