Washington athletes react to Bin Laden news

Thursday evening, I noted that it felt like I had watched the first round of the NFL draft with a bunch of Redskins, since they were all tweeting their instant reaction. Sunday night was sort of the same thing, except D.C. athletes were writing about the death of Osama Bin Laden instead of the drafting of Ryan Kerrigan.

(Also: see video of Phillies fans chanting USA.)

But again, in case you weren’t obsessively following Twitter, here’s a taste.

Charlie Davies:Wait.... What!!!? Bin Laden dead??? How!?

Andre Carter: Is it for real? Bin laden is dead?

Vonnie Holliday: Bin Laden dead?!?

Chris Horton: Thanks to all the Troops that put their lives on the line to keep this country safe. Without y’all this day couldn’t be possible.
