In late May, three of my friends who are longtime Redskins season-ticket holders nearly simultaneously sent me the e-mail seen above. It suggested that there were still lower-level general admission season tickets available for the 2012 season. It also suggested that my friends could get “additional seats adjacent to your current seats.”
“I have 4 lower-level seats, and they are offering me additional seats near my existing ones, not the standard buy additional upper level offer,” one of my friends noted. “I am a little surprised that they would offer me additional lowers and not upgrade those from the upper level.”
Well, whatever lowers the team had in late May are apparently gone — because the team sent out a notice to wait-list members Thursday morning, offering the chance to buy standing-room or obstructed-view seats. General-admission season tickets, the notice said, were now sold out.
