The Redskins’ home opener is less than a month away, and the team has said it’s on track to sell out its inventory of general-admission season tickets, but that evidently hasn’t happened yet.
On Wednesday afternoon, Reader Michael received the above solicitation from the Redskins, one of several he has gotten this year. He estimates that he signed up for the wait list three years ago.
But the short waiting time is old news. The interesting part is that the Redskins are now offering free tickets to the home game of your choice with purchase of season tickets, along with another pair of complimentary club level tickets to the home opener against the Giants.
The small print says the free tickets are “equal to the number of season tickets purchased," and that the “exact seat locations are at the sole discretion of WFI Stadium Inc.”
The Redskins also announced that last Friday’s Steelers preseason game was a sellout, which the team said marked 359 consecutive sellouts. In fact, the team’s official blog noted that the Steelers’ sellout streak is “nice, but it pales in comparison to the Redskins 359th-straight sellout tonight.”
