After the Caps had finished up their 5-1 loss to the Flyers on Tuesday, John Walton on the team’s radio network handed out his hit of the game. It went to referee Stephen Walkom, who absolutely leveled Philly defenseman Kimmo Timonen late in the third period.
Didn’t help Washington win, though. Walkom was also awarded the hard hat after the game.
