The one spring I spent in Viera was enough to impress on me that Spring Training assignments are somewhat unlike other assignments.
Not that the reporters don’t work like crazy. I mean, obviously they do. Hours and hours and hours a day. There’s just a different vibe when Manny Acta drives you around in a golf cart while talking about deer jerky.
Or, you know, when reporters are holding dogs on leashes at the complex, and other reporters are making new friends.
