Hey, if you only get two teams into the NCAA tournament’s Sweet 16 every half-century or so, you might as well enjoy it, with joint rallies by the Canal Walk thingee, both university presidents arriving by canal boats “festooned in school colors,” massive banners poking fun at Dick Vitale, and ”Two Shining Moments” t -shirts.
Then there’s the VCU alums in New York who sent these buses cruising through Times Square, and had the press release to prove it.
“We are tired of people saying ‘VC who’ when the discussion of the University comes up and have chosen this muted statement to remedy the situation, said Bill Schwartz, the press secretary for the Rho Triton chapter of the Theta Delta Chi Alumni Association, via the release. “Coach Smart and his band of ‘havoc-wreakers’ have forever changed the world’s view of VCU and for that we are grateful.”
I mean, it’s not ever day that the press secretary for the Rho Triton chapter of the Theta Delta Chi Alumni Association can get his press released picked up. Like I said, seize the moment.
