Riggleman to provide analysis for CSN Chicago

While Jim Riggleman was charging up his backup cell phones so that he’d be able to conduct his 14,000 radio station interviews on Friday, a few cynics charged that Riggleman was likely preparing for a new career in the media.

Well, a few cynics may have been right. Comcast SportsNet Chicago announced on Monday that Riggleman would be joining the network for coverage of this weekend’s Cubs-White Sox series. From the release:

Comcast SportsNet, the television home for the most games and most comprehensive coverage of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox, is pumped for round two of the “Crosstown Classic” series as the network announced today that former Cubs manager and recently-resigned manager of the Washington Nationals JIM RIGGLEMAN will join Comcast SportsNet’s “Crosstown” pre/post-game on-air team to offer his insight and analysis to the always-entertaining city rivalry.

Of course, the coverage plan also includes host Pat Boyle, along with Todd Hollandsworth, Bill Melton, David Kaplan, Chuck Garfien, Gail Fischer, Chris Boden and every other person who’s ever lived in or traveled to Chicago, so maybe it’s not time to get too excited yet.

Still, if the subject of Caddies is raised....
