Ross Detwiler was out and about in D.C. recently when he saw something he just had to take a picture of: a framed No. 76 Ian Desmond jersey.
Desmond changed his number this season from 6 to 20, but he’s never officially worn 76 during the season.
“He was 76 for one spring training,” Detwiler explained. “So it’s funny to see it framed and everything. I sent it to [Desmond] and he was like, ‘Where is that?’”
Desmond thinks it’s flattering.
“It was my old spring training jersey from back in the day,” he said. “Someone believed in me before I was anything, so that’s cool.”
Perhaps if Desmond finds it and autographs it, it will be promoted from its current spot above a thermostat and next to an occupancy sign.
