Late last month, the Philly blog Crossing Broad noted that the NatMobile had been spotted in Philadelphia, vomiting up “Phillies fans” through its back door.
“Normally we would make fun of this, but the Phillies are currently 5.5 games back of the Nationals in the NL East,” Kyle Scott wrote at the time. “It was so much more fun when the Phillies were, you know, good. So, to that end, we’ll say: Hey! Don’t kick us while we’re down .”
Well, offer refused. Because during the series this past weekend, the Nats did indeed kick the Phillies fans when they were down, in part with the video below, which is what brought the NatMobile to Philly in the first place.
The conceit is that Screech is offering seat upgrades to a pair of Philly fans, but instead of going inside the Presidents Club, he escorts them into the back of the NatMobile, drives them home, and tosses them to the curb while pointing to their stadium.
“We have a lot of fun and light-hearted things planned for the series,” a Nats spokeswoman told me when I asked about the NatMobile sighting last month. “It’s all in good fun.”
