Subway in Ashburn offers RGIII sandwich

This is what happens when you are the most popular athlete in Washington: sandwich shops create sandwiches in honor of you, before you’re even technically a Washington athlete.

This photo, via Caps writer and Subway aficionado Tarik El-Bashir, comes from an Ashburn Subway, which isn’t waiting until the draft to get on the RGIII marketing train.

If you can’t read the small type, the sandwich includes Roasted Chicken, Genoa and 3 lines of (unidentified) sauce. I don’t know if that’s an inspired combination, but I do know that I can see lots of people deriving pleasure from ordering an RGIII. It’ll cost you $5.75 for a foot-long, and $3.75 for a six-inch.

And yes, there are multiple Strasburgers around town, but I don’t think any of them pre-dated Stephen Strasburg actually signing with the Nats.
