The MASN broadcast plan for Nats-Orioles

Because at least one person asked, here are the plans for the MASN broadcast booth during this weekend’s Beltway series, which has gotta be the most important Orioles-Nationals series since the Nats came to D.C.

Friday’s 7:05 game and Sunday’s 1:35 game will both be simulcast on MASN and MASN2; both games will feature the joint booth that the network has used for Nats-Os games in recent seasons.

Bob Carpenter, the Nats’ play-by-play man, will work the first two-and-a-half innings. Jim Hunter, the Orioles’ play-by-play man, will work the next four-and-a-half innings. Then Carpenter will do the final two innings.

The play-by-play men will be joined throughout by Mike Bordick and F.P. Santangelo, representing the Orioles and Nats broadcast teams.

Saturday’s 7:15 game is a Fox telecast, and will be called by Carpenter with color work by Billy Ripken. Santangelo has promised to be a paying customer for that game.
