Stephen Strasburg bobblehead night this April set off a brief furor at Nats Park. Despite 15,000 of the hauntingly accurate dolls, there were profiteers attempting to buy up the critters, and fans e-mailing me tales of woe, and who knows what other shenanigans.
A quick eBay search seems to indicate that one of this year’s bobbleheads will run you at least $30 or $40 on the re-sale market. Big business, that.
Anyhow, if you missed your chance at a Nats Park Strasburg bobblehead, the P-Nats might be able to help. Washington’s Carolina League affiliate is having a Strasburg bobblehead night of its own.
The promotion is next Friday night, July 6, in Woodbridge against the Keys. That’s also Freebie Friday and Kids Run the Bases night. Strasburg bobbleheads to the first 1,000 fans. An image of the minor-league version is above.
The eyes aren’t as haunting, but it’s still a cool doll.
