The Verizon Center Priority Pass

If the Redskins introduced something like this, you can bet people would cry foul, so I figure it deserves a post of its own.

This e-mailed ad went out to a whole bunch of folks this week. The Web site provides a bit more information, such as:

* The passes start “at only $250 per person.”

* You can “be the first to know about upcoming events.”

* The passes offer both discounts to “select sporting events,” and “special pre-sale ticket access to all Capitals, Wizards and Mystics regular season and playoff games.”

(That last one has a “subject to availability” clause, so maybe “all ” isn’t quite the right word.)

I’m sure I’m missing something, but paying $250 for the right to buy tickets has a very odd feel to me.
