I’ve felt pretty great about the re-branding of the Wizards franchise over the past several months. But the ‘New Traditions’ thing seems like it might be a tad bold, especially before we understand what these new traditions are. Because losing to the Nets at home and then having team leader Andray Blatche criticize the coaching staff — after Game 1 — doesn’t seem like a tradition particularly worthy of preservation.
As for the slogan on the back of Monday’s giveaway shirt — about how ‘BIG Things Are Coming’ — that appears to be an NBA-branded approach with a national ad campaign to boot.
