Throwbacks: Bruce Allen sad after a Super Bowl loss

(Associated Press file photo)
Hey, it’s another summer Wednesday, which means another D.C. sports throwback image. Read here for an explanation, and please do submit your requests for specific throwback subjects below.

Anyhow, this week’s image has been used here before, but that was in a secondary role, and many of you likely missed it. It features Bruce Allen — now the GM, then the coach’s son — having an emotional moment after the Redskins lost Super Bowl VII to the Dolphins in 1973.

There are surely pluses and minuses to having a legacy fan serve in a top front-office role for a pro sports franchise. This is surely a plus.
