This is why you shouldn’t try to block baseballs with your elbows. Because then you get a second elbow. One with a baseball-shaped outline and possibly seam marks.
“I was just a little sore,” Todd Coffey said after exiting Sunday’s game with this puppy on his arm. “I did about three rounds of ice on it and treatment. The key now is just to knock the swelling down. The doctor looked at it. Nothing’s broken, which is the main thing. Knock the swelling out, and I’m good to go.”
He was more succinct on Twitter: “Oh well line drive would have been nice if we got him out, I will be ok no break,” the reliever wrote.
Coffey also told reporters that he thought if the ball hit him an inch lower, his arm would have busted.
