Think Dallas week couldn't get any bigger? No NFL team has started 0-2 and made the playoffs the last two seasons. Gibbs backs Carlos Rogers and John Hall, and Pierson Prioleau is done for the year. Reporters worry about the secondary and the kicker. Cowboys: 17-7 against Skins on national TV (scroll down). Dan Daly calls the Snyder era "one long exercise in crisis management," Jon Saraceno says we're "whining," Phil Sheridan now has Skins last in the NFC East and Adam Schein says the Skins "didn't live up to their pay stubs."

Picks rolling in: Cowboys by three (with a shot at Mister Snyder). SI says the Ravens are now a playoff contender, and Ravens players are buying pro teams (Kyle Boller + ABA = perfect). And ESPN praises itself for MNF.

More on Maryland's Steve Slaton miss, as Rich Rodriguez talks up the Terps and finds a backup QB. Sam Hollenbach calls tomorrow "a final exam" and puts "everything else...on hold." Virginia and Grumpy Groh are looking for a QB and could get Suitland's Deyon Williams back soon. Va. Tech might use freshman RB Kenny Lewis, a minor-league baseball guy, and Frank Beamer talks up Duke. Sigh.
