If you’re like me, you’d have seen this image of Nats Park on Tuesday night and assumed that aliens had landed, or that some secret branch of the military was holding night-vision target practice on giant racing presidents, or possibly that an upcoming St. Patrick’s Day party was getting a trial run a few weeks early.
No such luck, although I can’t swear about possible aliens inside the Screech costume. But a Nats spokeswoman tells me that stadium personnel were testing the scoreboard Tuesday night, and left it on to see if anything needed fixing.
So I guess this is what Nats Park looks like when the scoreboard is on and the lights aren’t.
